WHO WE ARE & OUR MISSION
We are Community Integration of Aviano Organization (CIAO), an all-inclusive charitable and social organization committed to supporting our community and improving the quality of life at Aviano Air Base.
Our mission is to promote charitable endeavors that benefit the Aviano Air Base community and to foster morale, goodwill, and fellowship among our membership, and our host nation.
Our vision is to see that all the DoD Family members feel connected and cared for as we create a premiere organization at a Premiere Assignment.
Our motto is Support, Strengthen, & Serve!
Our membership includes active duty, reserve, retired, DoD Civilians, DoDEA employees, and their spouses.
We are primarily a philanthropic organization. Each year, we provide over $20,000 in scholarships to high school seniors and spouses; and over $110,000 of support to the Aviano AB community. This work does not just happen; it takes a community of volunteers, and our members are instrumental in that.
Although you do not need to be a member to support our fundraising efforts, membership has its privileges. We offer our members an opportunity to gain valuable skills, join or chair committees that may interest them, support, or create projects they are passionate about, attend our monthly socials and Professional Development training, and have a voice in the direction of the organization and its impact on the Aviano AB community.
Philanthropy & Volunteerism

Proceeds from our fundraising are returned to the Aviano community in the form of scholarships, donations to base and community organizations, and awards to outstanding individuals.
Social & Cultural Events
It’s not all work, for we know how to have a good time as well! We meet monthly for socials that include themed events, exclusive tours, exploring our local communities, and many more.
